Essie launches Urban Retreat Nail Bar with catwalk-inspired designs

To celebrate the launch of the new Essie Nail Bar in Urban Retreat, Harrod’s leading nail art technician and in-salon Essie brand ambassador, Alice Marchesi, has created a mini edit of hand-painted designs inspired by the international catwalks.

The new Essie Nail Bar in Urban Retreat will welcome clients at its new counter on the 5th Floor of Harrods on a walk-in basis where they can choose from a full menu of treatments, including manicures, gel polish nail art and seasonal trend advice along colour matching for skin tones.

As a resident backstage manicurist at Milan Fashion Week, as well as being one of Chanel Beauty’s preferred nail artists, Marchesi brings an attention to detail and precision in creating her designs that are second to none.

Marchesi’s four designs take catwalk trends to fingertips, with four inspired by SS15 catwalks and one AW15 preview design. Choose from Little Lady, with a painterly portrait in the style of fashion illustrator, Renee Gruau; Porcelain Flowers, with delicate flora and fauna over on-trend off white; the sparkling Wild Flowers, which matches an overlay of wild flowers with a nude base; or Harrods Iconic Dog, a nod to the department store’s iconic mascot. For a preview into the AW15 season, Kimono Embroidery pairs earthy wine red with a kimono-inspired design.
